Children need discipline because it's one way to provide security, letting them know there are rules, limitations, freedoms, and restrictions. They flourish when they know right from wrong.
The other vital key, and maybe the most significant one, is our discipline must come from a heart of love. If they know we love them, which they will if we have made it practically evident through their experience with us, our discipline will have the desired effect, and it won't harm the kids.
